The history of Vega Moragona
La Magdalena, based in Casas de Haro (Cuenca), is one of the historic wineries of the Ribera del Júcar Protected Designation of Origin. Since it was founded in 1958, it has combined tradition, terroir and progress to create Vega Moragona wines that express the singular character of our soils and climate.
Bodega de La Magdalena
Bodega La Magdalena was founded in 1958 by a group of 60 local growers with a vision of pooling their efforts and their quality in a traditional winegrowing area. Today more than 300 members carry on that legacy, many of them descendants of the founding families, bringing a deep knowledge of the vineyard and the land.
First Wines and Brand Consolidation
In 1990 we launched our first wines under the Vega Moragona label, starting with reds and rosés made from Cencibel (Tempranillo). Since then the range has grown to include joven, crianza and reserva wines as well as organic wines, and we have also added the La Ventica label. This expansion reflects our commitment to varietal diversity and to quality.
Innovation and Modernisation
Over recent decades we have brought in modern technology.
The professionalism of our technical team allows us to balance tradition with quality control while keeping the artisan essence in every bottle. Our aim is to bring to market distinctive quality wines that not only represent the terroir of Ribera del Júcar but also tell a story in every glass, from the land to the table.

Awards
The excellence of the land and the climate, a well-timed harvest and state-of-the-art facilities make our wines elegant, bright, low in astringency, smooth and yet deep, with a perfect balance of acidity and vigour and that purple colour so characteristic of Ribera del Júcar.
